Frequently Asked Questions
Where will my massage take place?
Your massage will take place in a warm, comfortable and quiet room. Soft music will be played to help you relax. You will lie on a table especially designed for your comfort. You will be covered by a sheet and blanket at all times. The only parts of the body uncovered will be areas that are being worked on.
What parts of my body will be massaged?
A typical full body massage will include work on your head, neck, shoulders, arms, legs, feet and back. A typical half body massage will include work on your back, neck and shoulders.
What will the massage feel like?
It depends on techniques used. In general therapeutic massage, your session may start with broad, flowing strokes which will help to calm your nervous system and relax exterior muscle tension. As your body becomes relaxed, pressure will gradually be increased to relax specific areas and relieve areas of muscular tension.
How long will the session last?
The average full body massage is one hour “hands-on” massage. A half-hour appointment only allows time for the back, neck and shoulders. “Hands-on” is the moment that the massage starts. Please allow a few extra minutes for disrobing and robing. Many people prefer an one-hour session for optimal relaxation.
What should I do during the massge session?
Make yourself comfortable. The therapist will either gently move you or tell you what is needed throughout the session. Many people just close their eyes and completely relax. Feel free to ask questions about the massage.
What should I do after the session?
If possible, allow relaxation time prior to and after the session. Drink plenty of water after the massage session to replenish your body fluids to help flush out toxins.
What are some of the results from a massage session?
Massage will help you become more aware of tension in your body, improve circulation and feel more energetic. Massage helps your body heal faster from injury and will help you move with greater ease and freedom. Massage has so many wonderful benefits to help your mind, body and spirit.
